“IN SEARCH OF THE PERFECT LINE” SELECTED FOR FESTIVALS IN THE USA, UK and Brazil. My latest short film, “In search of the Perfect Line”, has been selected amongst the finalists of the Santa Barbara Ocean Film Festival. The event takes place on the 22th and 23rd of October showcasing Ocean related films from all over the world. The same film has also been selected for the Cornwall Film Festival in the UK between the 6th and 9th of November. In Brazil, the film will be screened at the XII National 5 Minutes Film Festival. The event will be held in Salvador between the 10th and 15th of November. The project was selected out of over 200 short films. My short “in search of the perfect line” has been selected for the Renderyard Short Film Festival 2008. The on-line festival receives films internationally and the selected films are screened in spain and the uk. The short “in search of the perfect line” is a finalist at Shorts Nonstop. the Canadian on-line festival is open to films world wide. the finalist films will be screened at the World Wide Short Film Festival, taking place in Toronto, Canada, in june 2009. The communication company Telus, who sponsors the event, will distribute the finalist films in Canada over the following platforms: Telus wireless, ADSL and telus tv video-on-demand. The short “In Search of the Perfect Line” won the “aloha accolade award” for excellence in filmmaking at the “2009 honolulu international film festival”. The event happens between the 6th and 8th of March at the historic hawaii theatre”. Erected in 1922, after extensive renovation in the 90’s, in 2005 it was elected the best historic theatre in the USA. To have your work recognized is always good. The fact that this is a film about Hawaiian culture, makes this award extra special. I hope to be there to receive it! My short “in search of the perfect line” was chosen amongst the 5 finalists in the documentary category of Mofilm, the largest mobile film competition in the world. This year, there were 250 entries from over 100 countries. The event which in 2008 had Robert Redford as one of its speakers, this year was presented by the actor Kevin Spacey. The festival is part of the GSMA mobile world congress, a gathering of 50 thousand professionals from the international mobile industry in Barcelona, Spain. With established partnerships with the Cannes advertising festival and the Shangai international festival amongst others, mofilm should promote further the finalist films. The short “In Search of the Perfect Line” has been selected for the Alaska Ocean Film Festival. The event happens in Alaska every year and will travel to many cities of the American state showcasing films from all over the world which have the ocean as its main theme. The short “in search of the perfect line” has been selected for the “International Surf Film Festival”. The event will be held between the 20th and 23rd of may in the basque town of St-Jean-de-Luz, on the south coast of France. The Festival, which brings every year the best surf related films from around the world, in 2009 will have Terry Fitzgerald as the president of the jury. The aussie Fitzgerald, living legend of the sport, took the surfing world by storm in the 70s. In addition to mesmerizing performances like the one eternalized in the classic film “Morning of the Earth”, Fitzgerald made his mark as one of the most skilled shaper/designer of his time. My short In Search of the Perfect line made the final of the “amstel surf film festibal”, in San Sebastian, Basque Country. The festival takes place between the 11th and the 14th of june. The finalist short films will be screened at the “Teatro Principal” on the 13th of June.
